Wer ist das? Das ist Gomez!

I believe it's finally time to document the story behind our obsession with Gomez.  It started with a German homework assignment to bring in a picture of someone in order to practice the phrase, "Wer ist das?" ("Who is that?").  At the last minute, I found a newspaper on the train and decided to bring that in.  There was a small picture on the front of Gomez celebrating after scoring two goals.  So in class, when we brought out our pictures, I held up that photo and said, "Wer ist das?"  Claire responded, "Das ist Gomez!" After that, it seemed like there were pictures of Gomez everywhere, especially in newspaper articles.  Since we saw Gomez wherever we walked, we always practiced our German and repeated that phrase.  That's how we came to love Gomez :).

Because of our obsession with German soccer players (Gomez and Müller), it was really fun visiting the Allianz Arena!

Allainz Arena, home of FC Bayern
We got a tour of the stadium and learned all about the pitch.

We really enjoyed all of the pictures of soccer players.

The funniest part of the tour was probably visiting the locker room.  The tour guide noticed that a few of us were rather obsessed with the soccer players.  After she finished talking about the locker room, she said, "If you're emotionally ready to leave the locker room, were going to head back into the hallway now..."

More posing with Müller and other soccer players :)

After the tour, we stopped in the fan shop, which was a whole new round of finding Müller and Gomez gear.  Claire and I bought matching Gomez shirts and Gomez posters.  Torin, Jon, and Matt found some FC Bayern lederhosen and decided to try them on.  It was quite entertaining.
